Our 0th date -- We met in 2019 while both working in San Francisco at the tech start-up, Lattice. Connor moved from Vancouver to work on the Lattice Sales team. Maddy was already working there managing clients. We crossed paths fairly often but didn't see each other outside of the office until August 2020 when we ran into each other in the city.

It's official -- After some visits back and forth (Connor temporarily living in Ashland and Maddy in SF), we committed to a week long roadtrip along the Oregon coast to spend more time together. To quote Connor on day 2 of the trip, "It's official - we're dating."

The first of many holidays together. We quickly and naturally integrated into each other's families.

With a "return to office" mandate pushed to the following year, Connor moved to San Diego for a 6 month lease with Nolan and Aidan. After visiting (and seeing how alive San Diego was), Maddy convinced her sister, Christy, to share an Airbnb for "one month" down the street from the boys. Maddy infamously extended her trip (several times) and ultimately never returned to her SF apartment.

Moving in together -- Only after returning back to SF in July 2021 (each with roommates), the "return to office" mandate was pushed indefinitely. We moved back to San Diego 8 months later and signed our first lease together. A house in Pacific Beach. The golf cart was a fast follow.

From Pacific Beach to Oregon --In Fall 2022, we bought our first home together in Bend. We traded beach runs, the golf cart and (exceptionally mediocre) surfing for trail runs along the river, an SUV with snow tires, and (mildly less mediocre) skiing.

Back to SF -- Enjoying being back in the city with our new jobs! We've rented out our home in Bend while we enjoy the energy of working and living in the city. Connor is a healthcare consultant and commutes to the downtown and San Mateo offices. Maddy is building out the Customer Experience department at a software start-up and works with the co-founders at their loft in the Mission. And Hank watches over the Lombard "crooked street" tourists full time from the balcony.

Our Engagement and the Future-- Connor proposed on our rooftop in Russian Hill, San Francisco. We're not sure if or when we'll return to suburbia full time, but for now we're loving all city life has to offer.
